Design 35 Edlu

Edlu was built by Henry B. Nevins of City Island, New York and launched in 1934. She was designed and built for Rudolph J. Schaefer. She is a very typical design for the period from this office. Edlu was a notorious race winner.

Heres a nice letter from her owner. Please double click for zoom.

Here are the plans.

She was reconfigured in 1936 as a yawl. I have attached an image with her new rig. Her ballast was also increased to compensate for the additional sail area.

It looks like she was again re-rigged in 1963. Heres the revised sail plan. Looks like the bowsprit was reduced in length. Note the potential hard dodger shown.
